This recipe comes from Katarzyna our young Polish cousin.  So the actually quantites are typically Polish - a bit of this a bit of that, a glass of something else...

Ingredients:

1 large can of Tuna in springwater
3 or 4 hard boiled eggs
grated cheese - a couple of large handfulls (gouda/ cheddar... whatever you like)
1 finely chopped medium onion
jar of the best mayonnaise - you will use probably 3/4 of jar - I use Hellmans, it's one of the best
salt, pepper.

Method:
  • After the eggs are boiled separate egg yolks from whites and finely chop both
  • drain water from tuna
  • the salad is composed of layers so do this in whatever bowl you will serve it up in.
  • layer 1:  egg whites, sprinkle a little salt/pepper
  • layer 2: spread some grated cheese
  • layer 3: spread half of the tin of tuna
  • layer 4: spread a thick layer of mayonnaise
  • layer 5: spread chopped onion
  • layer 6: spread rest of tuna
  • layer 7: spread thick layer of mayonnaise
  • layer 8: cover with crumbled egg yolk. Sprinkle a little salt/pepper to taste.
et voila!

This has got to be one of the tastiest salads!  Enjoy
