Well, I used to be an avid Webshots member but eventually didn't have time for the politics and I then ran out of time  to spend uploading images etc.  So this is a blast from the past - the image that has won the POTD (photo of the day) is one that I uploaded back in 2007. Still, it's nice to have it posted and then get lots of nice comments from other members.
The image is one of the inside of a Traboule in Lyon (these traboules were interior courtyards and covered walkways which joined buildings and streets - hidden from view - behind closed doors, they were used by silk makers who needed to move their merchandise without it getting wet. They were also used by the Resistance during WWII to elude the Nazis from finding communications centres.  Traboules of Lyon
