Post-editing Software

Today there is a plethora of editing software. Probably the best known is Adobe Photoshop. It has even become a verb.... nothing like photoshoping your images!

But, as we all know, anything Adobe can be hugely expensive and worse still, you can't even purchase the software and own it for ever...no, it has all disappeared into the Cloud!

There still are numerous free alternatives however.  Try Google Picasa - it's great for quick and effective editing; Gimp - a bit on the complicated side but it's free!

Pixlr  is a recent find - it seems to be very much like Photoshop so if you are familiar with Photoshop - Pixlr will take no time at all to learn - best yet - it's free!

Another recent find is Background Burner by BonanzaThis great piece of software separates your background from your image. It will select the background and give you several versions. You then choose the one you like and you can then modify what has been selected - that is, you can add more to the background or include more into the image. Once separated the image can be saved and used however you like.  Use Pixlr or Photoshop to  merge the image onto a different background - the sky is the limit, and guess what?  Yes, it's free!.
