I wish I were somewhere else.....
How often do you sit staring at a pile of bills or looking at the depressing news in the newspaper and wish you were somewhere else? Everyone does it some time or other. Even if you live somewhere as beautiful as the Snowy Mountains!
I found out very early that my name meant 'wanderer'. It has turned out to be a fitting description of my nature. I have also been told that I am ADHD! Well, whatever, I can't sit still for long - whether it be physically or spiritually.
Well, I am now somewhere else... first the Southern Alpine region of NSW then the Southern Highlands area near Bowral, NSW and now back to the Southern Alpine region near Jindabyne.
Having restarted building our house we moved back to the area and have had to rent whilst getting the house to a liveable state.
Well, it's still a huge work in progress, but, it is liveable! The winter was spent working in gorgeous Thredbo. Finally spring has arrived - in fact, it's almost summer in the southern hemisphere. It's back to doing some painting and landscaping whilst husband has gone back to full time work, unfortunately in Sydney!
It's been a long time since I started this page. I always wish that I could be somewhere else - savouring new sights, doesn't have to be too far away, there are so many interesting places to see just around the corner.
Since I started this page we have recommenced our house down in the the Southern Alpine region. I'm happy and sad - I love the Southern Highlands and certainly haven't explored the area anywhere near enough. Books bought on walks in the Southern Highlands and the Illawarra grimace at me from my bookcase. Loads of good intentions not realised.
I guess they will have to be replaced with books on the Alpine areas in NSW and Victoria. My first place to visit will be McKillops Bridge via the Barry Way into Victoria!
As I glance down my FB page there are loads of posts from friends travelling far and wide, Switzerland, Holland, France and the U.K. I'm always envious, it wouldn't matter how many times I had travelled to these places, I would still be envious - so much to see in a very short lifetime.
One very big thing to be happy about is that I have lived this long and have seen so much, I am very lucky, there are innumerable lives that have been cut short or those that will never be given the opportunity to enjoy those things that we take for granted.
